Fortunately, we will be sticking with the plan to return our older students 2 days per week beginning this Thursday. Thank you to Dr Spence and his staff for making the recommendation to stick with the plan.
I brought up the mental health issues that are negatively impacting our community and this must be factored into our decisions. My colleague Kim Melnyk attacked me and said that I should not be using mental health issues as a reason to return our students to school since mental health has always been a problem. I will continue to advocate for our students, especially those suffering from anxiety and depression!!!!

Thank you so much Vicky for always putting the our students first!! How one can do a risk assessment and not include mental health with it is incomprehensible.

Thank you Ms. Manning! There’s always a bigger picture to look at and it’s a shame that some refuse to see this. My daughter is beyond excited to go back! It’s a different Senior year for her but this is just one step towards any normalcy she’s had since March. You’re appreciated!

I’m a little embarrassed for some of the comments from other board members. I’m shocked and a little frightened by the member with the social worker background this evening belittling mental health issues ~9pm. I’m glad Hughes spoke up to point out that school support is certainly a measure to prevent and assuage mental health crises.

Thank you for advocating for our students. The way that she attacked you and tried to down play the mental health side of this was arrogant and disrespectful. We appreciate your hard work

Again thank you so much for advocating for our students! My son was so excited to go back to school today, even if it’s only two days a week! My ninth grade girls on the other hand are very disappointed that they lost two of their four days. In the end our kids are with account and they need to be in school! Mental health has absolutely everything to do with what’s going on right now!

Mrs. Melnyk always tries to come off as a professional, reasonable person, but she drips superiority and disdain. Thank you so much for continuing to fight for what is right. I know it's probably tiring many days but please know that SO MANY appreciate you and what you are doing. Comments are closed.
