Ms. Manning has been endorsed by numerous leaders in our community but her most important endorsements are from teachers and parents:
Tim Anderson, Attorney, Business Owner & VB Parent:
I have known Victoria for many years and have had several opportunities to observe her on the Virginia Beach School Board. I think anyone who is paying attention to the local issues in Virginia Beach understands that the School Board, which manages a $1 billion annual budget, is not running as efficiently and effectively as possible. The budget is way too top heavy, paying many executives salaries in the six figure range with substantial overlap of department functions. In addition we have seen the school system time and again dumb down the system. From taking grading away, to a no punishment discipline system and even so far as telling students if they fail to turn in work they will not get a zero are all real examples of how our school system is failing our children. Can we expect a child to enter college having been told grades don’t matter or failing to do work has no consequences? Those are the lessons our children are learning today.
The school board has failed to take proper steps to secure and protect our students. With the times we live in, where a school shooting occurs way too often, Virginia Beach has implemented a one armed school resource officer for each high school and middle school. That leaves every elementary school unprotected from an active shooter by having an armed officer on site, and further, having one school resource officer per school is not sufficiently protecting the students with populations of 1000+ students on many campuses.
Victoria understands these issues and has tried to fix them, only to be shutdown by the majority of the board. Victoria needs to be re-elected and those resisting her policies of safety, personal responsibility need to also be replaced. I 100% support Victoria Manning and I hope you do as well.

Randy West, M.S. Ed., VB Teacher & Coach: As an educator in the Virginia Beach City Public School system, I strongly endorse Victoria Manning as an at-large candidate for the VBCPS School Board. There are so many pressing issues that need to be addressed within the District and Vicky has been a champion for what I believe the majority of teachers , parents, and students want: safe schools, strong discipline standards, and a grading systems that effectively rewards students who apply themselves and do their work. I know that Vicky is going to work tirelessly for the betterment our schools and teachers. I know that she will be that fiscally responsible Board Member she has been who questions expenditures instead of simply “rubber-stamping” them. Vicky has fought for teachers, and she will continue to fight for what is in the best interest of everyone and everything in education.
